Review by Kathleen Szabo.
In the fifth installment of the Grantchester Mysteries Series we find archbishop Sidney Chambers wrestling with the social turmoil of the late 1960's. He is still nosing into his parishioners' business to solve mysteries with his friend Inspector Keating. As in the rest of the series the book is arranged in six interwoven stories. They are witty and intelligent, steeped in the atmosphere of the English countryside around Cambridge. Sidney is a flawed human, but being aware of his flaws makes him very humane, allowing him to empathize with his parishioners and be a better minister and great detective. If you have seen the PBS series you will find the books much less gritty and cozier.
