Categories: Fiction

Hayden Konig is the full-time police chief and part-time choir director/organist in a sleepy North Carolina village just over the hills from Mitford. The town is populated with eccentrics and the occasional murderer. Konig aspires to be a hard-boiled mystery writer like his idol, Raymond Chandler. He even types his mysteries on Chandler’s original typewriter. Unfortunately, Konig is a terrible writer, and his efforts are unintentionally hilarious. Fortunately, Schweizer is a good writer; his mysteries are good and also hilarious. This is the first of a series. Read them all for lots of belly laughs. Musicians will appreciate the humorous musical references scattered throughout.
